Mast foundation piles for Sønderjyske’s new training facility
Mast foundation piles for a new training facility in Haderslev
Sønderjyske’s football team in Haderslev will soon be able to enjoy a new training facility with three natural grass pitches and two artificial turf pitches. At Centrum Pæle, we are happy to be part of the foundation – literally.
Delivery of mast foundation piles
We have delivered 15 mast foundation piles with a length of 6 meters to the project, which will be part of the foundation for the light masts that will illuminate the facility for future matches and activities. The mast foundation piles are produced in lengths of 3-6 meters and can absorb a high torque even in short lengths.
Masts and lighting
The light masts, which are 16 meters high and provide 360-degree light in several places, will ensure optimal illumination of the facility, which is being built by artificial turf company WGS for Haderslev Municipality.
Technical specifications
The company 4AP Geoteknik is the consultant on the project. Aarsleff Ground Engineering has been responsible for driving the mast foundation piles with a PV335, which is a compact driving machine with a 3-ton hammer. The set-up time of the machine is low, and the compact machine makes it possible to install in tight spaces, as e.g. close to fences.
Benefits of mast foundation piles
Why choose our mastfoundation foundation piles for the project? According to Line Ohm Sell, civil engineer at 4AP Geoteknik, there are several advantages: “Centrum mastfoundation piles can absorb a high torque, which makes them ideal as piles for tall light masts. Here there is a large horizontal impact from wind and thus a large moment to be absorbed in the pole foundation. In addition, threaded rods are embedded in the top of the pile so they don’t need to be drilled in afterwards, saving time and resources.”
Compared to other foundation solutions, mast foundation piles, in 3-6 meter lengths, enable projects like these to be carried out with a smaller pile driver, making it possible to enter the site more gently – an important detail when budget is a major factor.
For us, it’s an exciting task to be part of a project that will ultimately create space for sports, community and experiences in Haderslev. We look forward to seeing the stadium lit up and taking shape.
About mast foundation piles
The mast foundation pile is based on a prefabricated reinforced concrete pile that is cast in a conical shape.
The new conical design requires less concrete compared to similar products. This not only reduces the weight of the pile, but also simplifies installation and lowers the emissions associated with the pile materials.
Stainless steel threaded bolts are integrated intothe upper end of the pile, facilitating the connectionof the mast foot plate. If necessary, an adaptorplate can be used to accommodate different footplate geometries.
Mast foundation piles are an ideal foundation for e.g. railway lines, solar farms and lighting columns due to their ability to carry both static and dynamic loads.
